Our Mission

Empowering minorities through STEM education

Our Story

LatinXCoders works with the youngest in the household to teach them the technical skills of tomorrow at an accessible price for our community.

Our programs are designed for coders with all levels of knowledge who are interested in designing and developing their own games while learning the ins and outs of coding!

Our goal is to empower the increasing minority groups - Latino, Black, and Women -  with the resources to contribute to close the racial gap in STEM education.

According to the U.S Department of Education, Latinos are underrepresented in undergraduate and graduate STEM programs and are not sufficiently exposed to STEM subjects at the K-12 levels.

In addition, a recent Pew Research center explains that there has been no change in the share of Black workers in STEM jobs since 2016.

At LatinXCoders we strongly believe that STEM education, and programming education should be available for all regardless of ethnicity or financial background.

Our Team

Hi my name is Zaira. I am the founder and CEO of LatinXCoders.

My experiences as an immigrant and first college graduate from my family has pushed me to understand  first hand the need for STEM education for minority communities.

I have worked as a professional Software Engineer for 4 years and have worked alongside a number of organizations that teach and promote programming education to elementary, middle school, and high school students.

In founding LatinXCoders, I hope to open doors for more minorities to become aware of coding skills and with it provide them more opportunities for a better future for themselves and their community.
